Well i might of tonight. Was waiting for egg fried rice and curry sauce... heard a horrid noise outside. Looked out to see someone had reversed into the duc. Legged it out as he was getting out to have a look.
No damage to car or bike. He'd pushed it back about 4 inches. Got his details just in case.
Made sure the wheels spinned and looked at the engine casing for leaks (sidestand bracket is attached to engine) then took my grub home.

Not yet. Closest I've come is seeing my lovely old, well used H1, Gladys, turned into a brand new looking museum piece. What a terrible waste of a fantastic bike Sad

I'll probably shed a tear when the ancient and ever reliable RXS finally meets its end.

Me and my mate were about to leave work. I had just started my engine and looked behind at him sitting quietly on his silent RD350.

I noticed that he had tears coursing down his face. When I asked him what was wrong he managed to get the words out slowly that the kickstart had kicked back and gone right up the front of his shin.

I almost did. I dropped the 125 up to a friend in Peterborough (150 miles away) and in the 2 years I owned the thing she'd done me proud. She'd taken me all around Northern Ireland and taken me from there to Portsmouth and didnt die a terrible death. So I was sitting on my new ride before going home after signing the paperwork I was asked if I will miss the bike. I said yeah I would and had a think about it.

Then I twisted the throttle of the GSXR750 and smiled and said..... "nahhhh!"

Might do if I have to sell the beastie though.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Absolutely balled my eyes out when my parents sold my bike.
Little did I realize, it was to upgrade me onto something bigger. But really didnt want to let go of it. Sad

The bike in question, and myself:

I had an '82 RM125 that made one of my mates cry:

I was riding it around some wasteland, it had been raining and the mud was really slippy.

I lost the front end on a slow left-hander, and pretty much just stepped off the bike as it went down.

The engine was still running as i went to pick it up. The reason the engine was still running was because, as the bike went down, the clutch lever had been pulled in as it sank into the mud.

So, as i lifted it up, the clutch lever pinged out, engaging the engine, the bike spurted forward then stalled, and i dropped it again.

This time, as it went down, i slipped and somehow did a roly-poly over the bike, finishing up sat on the backwheel with my feet over the seat.

As i lay there laughing, i suddenly realised that my leg was getting hot, extremely hot in fact. This was because my leg was lying over the exhaust. As i jumped up, screaming like a girl, i looked over at my mate who was doubled up with laughter, with tears streaming down his face.

Laughing

I also cried when my Dad sold his MkIV Cortina, but that was circa 1980 and i was 5 years old.

Crying or Very sad

The list would be far too long if I listed every bike I've ever owned.
They're just the bikes which I've owned under a full motorcycle license. I've also had 5 Mopeds, a DR125 field bike, PW50, CRF50, KLX110, PW80. The list is endless.

Almost did when I had my reg/rec problem a few weeks ago.

The reg/rec incident wasn't the part that made me cry, it was the problem of trying to get it into gear, going ape shit thinking my bike was completely foobar and then realising that the kick stand was still down.

I've still got a boot mark in the shape of a nice big foot mark on the garage door where I'd kicked it during my hulk moment.

And..... I've not long found the 10mm spanner that I'd lobbed across the garage.

There might have been a smidgen of a man tear when I got it repaired for fuck all too.

My 2 instances of tears... When I lent my RXS to a friend with plenty of biking experience who I trusted and he flipped it the second he got on it by full throttling and dumping clutch. Seeing it slamm down on its side after I spent a fair bit of time and effort getting this bike roadworthy equated to tears.

Second time would be when the GN seized up on the M6, purely from shock as I had narrowly avoided being thrown off the damn thing, I was stuck out in 2 degrees C, 40 miles away from home-ish with minimal battery and didnt know if a phone call would kill my phone off. luck was on my side and it all was fine.

I had an XS250 after passing my bike test. I feel your pain, it was shit from new and was a troublesome starter despite having electric and kickstart.

Nope.

I have got off a bike on the side of the road and cried though because my hands were hurting so much from the cold. Back in the days of my youth, that is. There's no pain quite like 'warming frozen fingers' pain. Nowadays I'm a bit more clever and make sure I take the proper precautions.

Was upset for weeks when I sold my ER5. My first proper bike. I just felt gutted.

Saying that after binning my bike the other week, I couldn't have given a feck about it. (I was fine).
