I've just bought a Pipe Werx exhaust for my bandit 650 k8, which I LOVE! Much deeper note and maybe its just me but the bike feels faster :p.

It also pops on deceleration which I also love, letting off the throttle and going from 40 to 30 miles an hour is where it all happens and it sounds awesome! But I hear this could also my bike is running rich/lean?

2 questions;

Is it going to damage the bike if I run it like this?

If yes, what is the cheapest way of fixing this? I might like the sound but I'd rather save money in the long run Smile

Cheers!

no it won't damage your bike you might find that it will cost abit more on fuel as the exhaust gas can flow quicker.

If it is running lean then it is also running hot, it could damage the engine if it is too hot but if it is just an endcan I seriously doubt it would affect the fuelling enough to make it run THAT lean.

Running rich fouls plugs etc etc.

I wouldn't worry about it, if you don;t have any flat spots in the rev range then it shouldn't be an issue. If you want to sort it then a power commander is your best bet (although some suzukis have reprogrammable ECUs - have a look online to see if yours does as I'm feeling lazy Thumbs Up ).

As Donny said. All I wanted to add is to be aware that you are drawing attention to yourself. Make sure your bike is legal should you be stopped.

Thanks! I cant find anything on reprogrammable ECUS for this bike, so I think ill be in the market for a PCIII next... Sometimes the throttle feels fine, sometimes I do notice a few dead spots which has worried me as thats how my CBR problems started lol, only they got a lot worse!

Also the bike is definately running hotter but not hot enough to bring the fan on Smile
