Suzuki GS 125 ESX 99

The Rev counter on my bike was jumping all over the place forwards and back off the gauge etc. i had a quick look at the cable and it looked like it was broken at the engine end.

Bought a new cable, put it on and now the needle just constantly spins clockwise, the more you rev it the faster it spins. doesnt rise and fall as you would expect a rev counter to do.

Any Ideas?

I think your rev counter is broken and you either need to fit a new one or ignore it.

You will probably find the return spring has snapped, it is a spiral that connects the needle to the clock body.

If your lucky you could solder the broken bits back together as long as the solder isn't too thick and the overlap isn't to much you won't affect the accuracy very much.

You can get cheap after market rev counters if it bothers you that much. Smile
