How flipping windy?!?

Hi all. Just rode home from work in heavy wind and CHRIST! Had a really unpleasant time of it. Being blown across the sodding road, rear wheel felt like it was being blown from under me. Did 40 most of the way on 60 roads.

I'm only on a little cbr 125 so I guess it gets blown about more than most. How do you lot deal with heavy wind?

Fellow 125 rider, with a bloody massive jacket that seems to catch the wind from every single angle!

Since it was so sunny, decided to go for a quick ride to Melton Mowbray and back from Leicester (25 miles round trip or so) through some country lanes. Felt like I was gonna come off so many bloody times. I hate that feeling when you're in a turn, counter steering away and you got the wind blowing you not towards the inside of the turn, but the other way, feels like youre gonna lose grip any second...

Back from a interesting ride home from a mates.
Learnt that a Gibson guitar gig-bag can withstand progressive riding, but isn't aerodynamically friendly.

No flies on the visor aswell. Too bloody windy for them.

My favourite bit of yesterday's ride was when a discarded carrier bag blew into me and wrapped itself around my foot and the gear lever leaving me unable to move my foot or change gear, which was unnecessarily exciting.

Typically, the next three lots of lights were on green so it took ages before I could slow down enough to tear it clear...

I figured that, combined with being blown all over the place, was a definite hint and spent the afternoon cleaning the bike instead. It wasn't as much fun tbh.

Lift my left leg out. More people tell me this is a bad idea than tell me it's good, but it works. I figure it's a toss up between the risk of catching your foot on something or being blown off the bike.

My brother-in-law had a CBR125 as his first bike, and he often said about suffering from cross winds and being blown about on it.
At the time I though it might be due to him being physically small, but it seems the bike tends to suffer in the wind whoever the rider.

(My own solution was avoid the situation completely, to take my DAS and ride a 500)

One of the little pains associated with playing the game. Best advice might be to lower the height of your toss because trying to adjust the toss angle for heavy wind is a hit or miss situation
