Hey i recently had some trouble with my nsr, blockage in the jets and weak plug since cleaned and working, i did dismantle top head, and promptly put back together as all seemed sound. I did not put on a new gasket and re-torqued to PCD 2,8,3,7,etc,etc.
So i had the bike and all was running smooth(pre-brakedown), but i never had it over 60, primarily because the roads here are like swiss cheese.
However since i've got it running again it wont do much over 60 in 5th it sits just over 60mph at 7000rpm(no higher) in 5th and in 6th around 6000rpm(no higher) and sits bang on 60mph, as far as i can tell it has the same pull on the way up.
As far as i know this bike is fully restricted, would there be any other cause? Any info would be appreciated greatly. |

For the price of spark plugs, id replace it and start there. If it dosent solve the problem then take a look at the colour/condition of the new plug after a ride.

probably not the best resource but it was the best i could find right now. no doubt someone on here will have a better one.

There is a slight amount of oil around the head but the spark plug wasnt tightened i expect thats where is was coming from, i've just bought the bike and from my inspection it looks in almost perfect knick.
I've just took the sparkplug out ill upload pic when my phone arrives fell down a pit and broke it bike near came down with me .
Code on spark plug is BR9ECS (NGKR) its new some mechanic put it in last week for M.O.T first bike so i've been easy on it. I'll drain some coolant when it cools down to check.
Thanks for the advice, i'll let you know how i get on |
