Results day tomorrow! (19th August)

There were some rumours going round that UCAS will update their system at midnight taking into account the results, but according to here, that isn't the case. Bah.

My grades were Great/Average/Shite*. I will be going to Bath/Surrey/Sainsbury's* to study BEng Elec. Eng./Shelf Stacking*.

Hope everyone gets what they want. Thumbs Up

*Delete as applicable on the 19th

Good luck everyone!

I got a 'D' and a 'U' in mine and I'm a credit controller - let that be a lesson to you all!

My daughter has a couple due, but fortunately for her has an unconditional offer for Uni, so results don't really matter.

She's still nervous though!

I was told last year that you could check the UCAS website at mid night and it would tell you which universities have accepted you, therefore giving an indication of your grades.

Good luck everyone. Thumbs Up

I was told that too, but that site says otherwise. I'll still be sitting there hitting F5 like a mad man anyway.

It says on Ucas that clearing is available from 00:01 19th so they must have updated the results/acceptance by the midnight point, or within the first minute after midnight.

Good Luck though to all out there waiting for results.

You think waiting for A-Levels are bad..

wait till you (if you do that is) go to Uni..

waiting for your grant check.
there's waiting at the bar to get served.
then waiting for Neighbours to come on so you can scive your lecture.

then after 3-4 years waiting to find out you've got a Desmond (2 - 2 like myself Smile ) and you can finally stop spunging (spelling ?) off the state, get a real job and you can pay back the bucket load of cash you now owe them Neutral

Some advice: Retake them in January, not June. Doing retakes alongside A2 exams messes all your revision up and affects your A2 performance.

Did for a load of my friends anyway.

When I did my A-levels my College wouldn't let us do the exams in January for some reason. I did them with all my other exams during the summer and made massive improvements. I got 100/100 in one of my Philosophy re-takes. Mr. Green

With exams re-takes some are only in January, some only run in the Summer.

My Computing re-take was in the summer, whilst my Business re-take was in January. Its just the way thay are...

Well, as I posted a little while ago, I failed my first year at Kingston University, and so now I have reapplied to UCAS to try and go to another Uni and start my degree again. So currently looking through the Clearing list and praying there's somewhere good that will take me on!! Praying

I could repeat my year at Kingston but I don't really fancy it to be honest! bit humiliating plus I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

Am going for Accounting and Finance. By the looks of it the possibles are : Brighton, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Southampton. Don't think I want to go too far from home really.

Have you definitely got a place for Brighton then? What's the uni like? I don't really know much about it.

Well my first choice is Brighton and second is Bournemouth. Out of the two i prefer Brighton. Brighton is a cool place with the lovely sea side, it has exactly the course i want. Loads of pubs/clubs and all that. Good roads to razz out on Wink , na actually im not sure about that one... It gets nice and busy in the Summer when all the tourists come. It looked like it has good enough resources and the conditions in which to learn seemed all in order to me.

I didnt really got a chance to go to see Bournemouth properly. Sea front looks nice, and there are some nice roads there. But apart from that we didn't actually get to see much. Bournemouth Uni is all-in one, Brighton is split up into a few campuses. , but Bournemouth also has some good resources. I think Bournemouth has a better Business reputation, but TBO i'd rather have the course which appeals to me more...

Go and check them out, becuase my memory is a little hazey, and you will only really know if you go to the places yourself. You can go in the clearing time.
