I've been trying to practice everything I need for the mod 2 while i've been riding my 125 about, i've got a few things I was hoping someone would clear up:

- When you're passing a car thats pulled up in the side of the road and stopped, do you have to signal right or just do a lifesaver

- if you have to cross the center lines when going past a parked car I guess you have to signal?

- If a car is turning right ahead of you, is it ok to pass them on the left and how narrow a gap should it be before thats considered unsafe

- and if the car is turning left and the road ahead is clear should you wait or overtake?

Thanks

1: No

2: No. For both questions are pretty much the same. Your passing a car thats stopped and not turning off the road. Make sure you do a lifesaver before you move out and another before you move back in. And dont forget to leave enough room so the car can open his door.

3: If you can get a car down the side then go for it if the car has stopped. If your in any doubt then hang back.

4: Wait. How do you know that car is turning Left? If you answer that his indicators are flashing then you've failed your test. That flashing yellow light you see only means that the indicators are working and nothing more. Until that car turns then dont assume its going to.

Golden rule: If in doubt then chicken out

Passed my Mod 2 earlier today and I just hung back until the vehicle infront had completed what ever they were doing. Passed with 3 minors (2 for indication and 1 for being just over the limit)

Edit* best advice I ever got was, don't try and over complicate things. You'll end up doing something wrong that you could have avoided.

Only in Ireland are you expected to indicate when going around parked cars. Here it is not expected, in fact you'd probably get a minor for doing it for the very reason it is not advised. Because it can be classed as confusing other road users.
