Hi

As far as your leg goes, keep on top of the situation. My better half spent 7 years before her leg healed. Basically they didnt pin it correctly in the first place so it would not heal, and when they finally did pin it correctly they leg had long given up on trying to heal. Last summer they unpinned her leg and let her walk round on it for 3 months, basically so it got nice and wobbly again and aggravated the break. Then they repinned it in September. When they repinned it they found she had an infection in the bone (one of the nasty infectiions as well) so dragged her back into hospital for another 2 weeks for intravenuos anti biotics (tizoplanin I think, although the spelling is probably wrong)

Basically, unless you kick up a stink they will just ignore you. She used to get questions such as "how many months sice you broke your leg?", "three and a half years", "oh, oh well, see you in 6 months".

By the way, she broke her leg in a car accident. Her leg is still pinned but she is now riding a bike again. The problem is that if you break it again while it is pinned the shock is liable to shatter the bone, which is virtually impossible to repair.

Oh, and I know one guy in the USA who broke his arm on a bike on the track. The arm was pinned but the physio managed to snap the pin!

All the best

Keith

Oooo, glow in the dark time.

You should be OK now, but longer term do not let them fob you off

All the best

Hi

Just make sure there are signs it is healing, and if not really chase them up. If necessary pay the money and get a referral from your GP to a major orthopeadic hospital for a 2nd opinion. Charlottes leg only got properly treated after paying to get a consultation as Oswestry

Think 5 years is actually a bit long for the pin to be in for. Think they will do it anything like a year after it has properly healed, but you need to speak to a doctor about that really

All the best

Keith

I have a plate in my leg too !!
Its been in for nearly ten yrs, I have no trouble with it a t all.
I suggest, if poss, leave it in, more trouble to get it out, the bone knits round the screws you see, they then break leg to get pins /plates out again..noooooo leavie it in..

PS
Tell me about the jacket ??
pm me. its easier.
