Can you face it into the wind, leave it in gear, push the bike forward until all slack is removed from the gear train, then use sidestand, front wheel turned hard to the left.

Mine stood up through the great hurricane of 1989 like that, my brother's bike blew over, I remember it distinctly cos I did myself an internal injury laughing when I saw it go over.

We never got our dustbin back though, wonder where that ended up?

Was fucking dangerous today. Made the stupid mistake of going to work on the RXS and nearly got blown off the road and into the path of oncoming traffic several times.

Sometimes a big heavy old lump is reassuring.

I rode home up the M11, but thankfully, the American secret service, all their poxy armoured limos and the bloody huge police escort kept me and all my commuting friends at a nice steady 60mph behind them so we didn't get blown about too much.

Bloody wind! It got me a few months back. Hopefully there wasn't too much damage to your pride and joy?

Hint: Don't use the cover if it is windy as fuck. I made that mistake Embarassed

Today I decided to go on an epic cycle ride. It was a bad decision due to this bastard wind.

The wind makes hills where hills do not occur. Thumbs Up

My CG125 has blown over before with cover on - on subject and out of interest, what's the weight of the heaviest bike here that's been blown over?

I would think it would depend on the wind strength, eg a hurricane could life a car Laughing

Covers act as a sail in winds unfortunately.

While I sympathise with the wind blast problems, the temptation to sig this phrase is just immense.

My 230kg VFR800 has been blown over in the wind before. I believe that the cover acted as a sail. That went straight in the bin, bastard.

had my CB250 nearly blown over but that was on a cliff face.

But the CBR seems even on a long arse bridge over open water to stay straight and true even with all its plastic.

on the note of covers mine gets blown off before it does any damage.

I hate riding in the wind...the best way for me to cope (being so lightweight) is to have ballast attached to the bike...but I'd still rather avoid it at all costs. Laughing

Saw a victim today, although it is a one of those Gillera scooter/bike things:

https://i54.tinypic.com/t5kjo5.jpg

Daft really, if it was parked the other way around with the side side towards the kerb it might not have happened! Would have picked it up but what if the wind blew it over again? Twice the damage, so decided to leave it.

As good as the intention, would look bad if he came back and saw you trying to pick his bike up, as if you've just knocked it over.
