I had my standard exhaust chopped in half, it sounded and looked amazing...and sailed through every single MOT thereafter with no bother whatsoever. Cool

I changed mine for a blueflame one on my pointy, the noise was fantastic if Im honest but didnt notice any power increase. Cutting through the link pipe was a bit worrying but it had to be done Thumbs Up

I had a Pipe Werx full-length carbon can from eBay, pretty cheap too, the link is here. I know it's not Carbon but if you call them they will make you it to order, it's only £200 delivered or so and it'll be with you in days.

The guy who did my MOT at Bristol's biggest MOT centre said it was by far the best sounding SV650S he'd ever heard.

It has a really low grumble at idle/low revs just like a V-twin but once the revs step up it sounds like a V4/low IL4 scream.

It was fantastic, I'm giving it to a BCF member actually.

However, do remember that to fit an aftermarket exhaust on an SV650 or SV650S you have to cut through the exhaust pipe just after the fairing as there is no other way to remove the standard exhaust can. It's a 10 minute job with a hacksaw or a 2 minute job with an angle grinder. Wink.

As for power, with some exhausts a lot of SV650s tend to run lean/rich but it's no problem at all, you may get a couple bhp too.

HTH! Thumbs Up!

Beowulf

By far the best sounding exhaust on an SV.

Cheap, well built, so much so I even put another one on the Bandit and its weathering well after 4+ years every day all year use.

Really? How did you know...? You never heard MY bike did ya? So in your opinion it was the best sounding one...and in the big scheme of things, who are you in the world of sv's?? Laughing

Bet it wasn't as cheap as mine...because mine was FREE. And because Big Steve (Basingstoke MAG) did it for free, I bought him a bottle of Southern Comfort to say thanks (as its his fave tipple). Wink

Owned one for 5 years
Member on SV org for even longer, various meets, events, Santa Pod etc.
Best friend owned one
Family friend owned one
Saw hundreds, if not thousands in the 8 years going to london (even a 700cc jobbie)

Nope, not much......

Beuwolfs give it a much deeper tone than 90% of SV exhausts do. Sounds like a larger bore 650, without sounding strained at top end like most do. Far better than a stubby.

Go on the forum, most of the long term members will agree its probably the best sounding standard cans you can buy.

What's the chances of cobbling an SV exhaust onto an SFV, you reckon? Brand for brand they sell at about £100 less than the SFV ones for something that only seems to vary in terms of the link pipe.

Making blanket statements based on your own opinion, regardless of experience, is a great way to look like an idiot. Thumbs Up.

Not reading replies properly also does the same.

"most of the long term members will agree its probably the best sounding standard"

Im offering good advice here, which can be taken, or ignored. No bother to me. Don't give me beef because you want to try to look like a smart arse onlinle. Im trying to help, stop being a badger.

I'm not shouting 'look at me' - you were the one claiming that sv's sound better with one make of exhaust. I was merely challenging you, stating you don't know every single sv out there, so you are no authority to decide that. Pointing out that you are just one little man in the big scheme of things... Mr. Green

As Clanger said, your original post was that a single make of exhaust is the best with no facts or figures to back that up.

Your reply then further backed up your opinion-based 'facts' with further opinions. Thinking. Somehow I think neither you nor the entirety of SV.org is able to make a blanket statement on what is the best exhaust for an SV650.

I have no 'beef' with you at all, by all means suggest that Beowulf are good exhausts and a lot of people think likewise, but the statement "Beowulf exhausts are by far the best sounding exhaust on an SV" is in no way fact and to believe that your own opinion is fact is silly and makes a mockery of personal preferences.

I'm being very facetious today.

Missed this.

Prob best off asking on the org for that one. Not been on for a fair while. The engines the same, so the initial exhaust route i'd imagine follows the same direction, but it will be different and the join I'd think as the whole rear can area is vastly different.

To the OP:

Ask at the SV650.org forums. You'll probably get less infighting in with the replies.

Exhaust noise is gonna be as subjective as which which music you like best. Dyno figures wont lie but I don't think you'll get them here somehow.

I've got a Scorpion can on mine and it sounds OK to me.

Enjoy your SV dude

The first thing you must do when you fit a can to a SV is remove that baffle and find a tunnel, the longer the better Mr. Green
