rear wheel clunk

iv just noticed that when i push my bike (not running) there is a bit of a clunk every quatre turn of the rear wheel and if i hold the tyre i can feel it coming through the wheel.

iv tried checking it with the wheel off the ground but it dont do it, so it only does it when the weight of the bike is on it.

so anyone have any idea what this could be?

oh and its a bandit 400 1993

The quarter turn thing seems odd.
How are the chain and sprockets.
Does the front one rotate four times faster than the rear Rolling Eyes

No it doesn't... not if its got a four blade cush drive.....
If the cush drive rubbers were knackered then off load, when the paddles were'n compressing the remnants of rubber cush between them, the paddles would be 'clunking' each time they over centred... every quarter turn.....

so replacing the cush drive rubbers should fix it?
or could it be possible the rear wheel is overtightened? or not aligned?

That would be my best guess, yes.

If the back wheel was over tightened, it wouldn't make a hapth of diufference unless it was so tight it was locking the bearings.... doubtful....

If the wheel wasn't aligned then the chain would be running off the sproket and snagging, and it wouldn't do it as regularly as every 1/4 turn, and you would have clicking noise as the chain tried riding up the side plates, not a clonk.

Check the cush rubbers, its only a 10 minute job.

oks so il whip the wheel off tomorrow and im guesing im just looking out for the rubber being nworn/damaged
