Just a few i could do with being answered...

1. What happens when you break down? I notice a lot of people just have TPO and dont pay for break down cover, in this case what do you actually do if you are miles from home? Also is breakdown cover very expensive?

2. If you pay for TPO insurance on a cheap 125cc worth about £600, and it gets stolen, what do you do? If you tell the insurers youe premium will go right up because it got stolen, so how do you go about cancelling the insurance without them knowing it was stolen?

Thanks

If you don't have breakdown cover, then you either push the bike, repair it at the side of the road or call someone with a van / bike trailer to come and collect you.

You can get basic breakdown recovery for about £25.00

If it is insured TPO then you will get nothing if it is stolen. You hope it gets found.

Just cancel the insurance you don't need to explain why (although they will charge an admin fee).

Some breakdown companies will allow you to become a member when you ring for assistance, so you'd probably be able to get recovered straight away. Otherwise, you would need to call a local recovery agent.

Breakdown cover is an extra even on most fully comp policies, you usually have to pay more for it.

They will normally charge you extra in a breakdown situation though.

Eh? Who lets you do that? That's like phoning to get buildings and contents insurance while your house is on fire. Confused

It is surprising, but you can do it. AA and RAC allow it I think, if you join there and then and pay your sub, they'll recover you.
