Ummm, Strange question I guess, but is anyone in shropshire got a Honda c90 on here? The only reason I ask is I'm considering one, but I'm not sure if I can live with one... I was wondering if anyone could come show me what they're like, maybe give me a pillion ride? I dunno...

Hens teeth mate. If you spot some old granny riding one you'd be wise to knock her off it and get that thing to a museum ASAP

Used to love riding around on a C90 many moons ago, awesome bikes for what they are, just watch out on corners as the footpegs are fixed and the zorst is low so often you'll find yourself lifting the rear wheel off the deck with the zorst until the footpeg digs in and pings the bike upright again making you look like a C90 riding god! Very Happy

get one! I had one two years ago and for some reason it was alot more fun than my RXS. It was just the simplicity of the things as well as it being indestructable. Stamp it into gear with the revs on and they are quite effective wheelie machines!

A mate had a Jialing 90, it's made by a state owned chinese company so quality isn't the usual crap and it had a C90 engine in it.

Hooligan bikes. He probably nicked that riot shield from some poor copper on the G20 riots.

Spannermonkey, are you sure you will be able to handle the sheer power that the C90 represents?

Buy one, they don't cost much. They are solid as a rock, cheap as chips to run. (Probably cheaper than chips considering the cost of food these days). They hold their value too.

I owned and rode one for about 18mths, had a crash, had her fixed up and then sold her for approx £100 more than bought. Thumbs Up

If you buy one, and don't like, sell it again. No biggie. Thumbs Up

My cousin had one and when you got anywhere above 10mph the handlebars used to shake and rattle. Truly a terrifying ride.

More likely the front suspension bushes were worn.
Leading link front suspension isn't the best to start with - add in worn bushes and the front wheel can easily turn a decent number of degrees either way, while the steering is held straight.

Well I already own a PC50 with leading link... and smaller drum brakes. So I'm already used to that =)

i have one! i love it. i get 85 real world mpg (read: using the throttle as an on / off switch) with a 17 tooth front sprocket top speed is 57mph but real cruising is 45 - 50.

its all about tyres. the best are continental conti - gos, they grip like a very grippy thing hence mentioned bottoming out. brakes are ok for the bike but with leading link suspension the front actually RISES under braking. i use rear as mch as poss.

thing to check: centre stand. the stand is on a pin through the frame, and over years this pin can wear away at the hole in the frame making it oval. mine is getting there and the stand flops about a bit but it still passed MOT last week. if its 2 - 3 inch off floor when raised its ok. check it starts from cold (feel the engine first) mine started fist kick (literally) after 5 months of layup not used. you can also spin the wheels to see if you can hear the brakes rubbing. also, check in the rear wheelarch for heavy rust or rot

love the little touches though, the helmet lock under the seat, the steering lock, the fact the chain guard has a little rubber grommet to check chain tension through, ect.

Put it in gear, keep the lever pressed, rev it right up, release quickly, best wheelie you will ever do.
