If they're induction-loop triggered, you could try sticking a big magnet on the bottom of your bike. Google will provide details. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Back when I was on L's pottering around Oxford I was stuck at some lights for ages. A white van pulled up behind me and I thought I should just ride through when the traffic was clear to get out of his way.
As I rode off I could see more of the van in my mirror and noticed the big blue letters on the front saying 'POLICE'. He followed my through the red lights and I had a but-clenching ride up the road waiting to see if I got pulled over
He went a different way eventually, but that I guess the fact that it was obvious what had happened meant I got away with it. ____________________ Bikes: GZ125>CBR125>Yamaha MT03>Triumph Sprint ST 955i

I'm pretty sure there is a provision in the RTA for 'inoperative' red lights, and exception to rule that breaching a red light is an automatic failure to give way.
the 'Problem' of automatic triggered lights, is such, and particularly with temprary traffic control around road works, there is I believe an entire High-Ways Agency 'protocol' instruction for how to deal with them, both on the spot, lights not changing.... I think its something like if they have not changed within a 'reasonably period' and make suggestions, like perhaps two minutes, THEN you treat it as a faulty light, and APPLYING GROSS CAUTION, proceed, being prepared to give way... etc etc etc...
and then a whole litiany of stuff about reporting to responsible local authority, and the procedure for changing triger settings depending on th number of complains and reports of trigger failure etc....
BASICALLY.... give it a good couple of minutes... treat as uncontrolled junction, and apply caution as major hazard, BUT, important bit is you MUST complain.
If you dont complain then the responsible authority wont get the requisite number of complaints to change the trigger sensitivity, or put in timer over ride, so it switches at certain intervals regardless of trigger, 'in case'. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

pft, just jump it.
As Mike says, treat it as an uncontrolled junction. Just assume that some other idiots got a green light and will come booting through at any second. ____________________ My Flickr |
