Ok basically while I was out for a ride yesterday I noticed my headlight wasn't working, so I replaced the bulb thinking it was that which didn't work. Having a quick look today, it would appear that my brake light is constantly on aswell.

The headlight switch still operates properly. When you switch it to the first position the sidelight comes on but in the full position the headlamp doesn't light up

The brake light comes on as soon as the ignition is switched on.

Confused

With the brake light switch and headlight switch both being on the right hand side switchgear I thought something might be shorting but I haven't a clue.

Any ideas?

Cheers Ollie.

A bad earth somewhere. Take any electrical connector blocks you can find apart, check the pins for damage clean them out (I use WD40 or brake cleaner), and put a load of contact grease (or Vaseline if you are like me) in and put them back together. If that doesn't work try cleaning the switches and testing them. If that doesn't work you can try tracing it (or get one of the clever blokes on here to do it for you), by using the wiring diagram.

Right, the brake light was just a sticky switch so thats fine.

My front right indicator now wont work, whereas it was fine yesterday. I've had the indicator apart, cleaned all the earths and connections, changed the bulb and still nothing. The left hand indicators work fine and the right rear works but just stays constantly on. Could the relay be at fault if the left indicators still work as normal?

Still cant get the headlamp to go, cleaned the switch and checked all the connections but cant get anything out of it. Is there a relay or something for the headlight? Cant see one on the wiring diagram.

Would the pass button still lighting it up point to the switch?

Start with the basics and check your fuses, its the middle one of the three under the LH side panel for your headlight.

Well I may have been slightly retarded Shifty

The fuses were the first thing I checked, and visually they were all fine, all the elements inside were still intact so I thought nothing of it. Also, for some reason I assumed there wouldn't be a fuse for just the headlight, it would appear I was wrong.

Changed the fuse and it now works Rolling Eyes Laughing Oh well.

Thanks lads Thumbs Up
