Trouble is what do you need more than 2 of each socket/spanner etc for? If your doing a wheel change then you only need 2 spanners. One for each side. Anything more than that is a waste, unless your an idiot and lose them so often that having 100 of each is appealing.

It's not for that reason.

After doing 7 years in the motor trade, I've collected probably 5 or 6 sets of spanners.
When you are working on all kinds of vehicles, for different types of jobs, certain spanners are needed for certain things.
Those Banana ratchet spanners are awesome!

I have an idea.

Buy it all. Take 1 set of everything out for yourself to keep. Put it back on ebay with a buy now for what you've paid for it.

Free tools ftw ?

They also stole £50,000 worth of tools from a nearby Mercedes van which belonged to global company Snap-On and took off in a £7,000 camper van, which was also parked up in the storage unit.

Wouldn't surprise me then.

Spose there's no real way to prove they're stolen (if they are) but whoever wins the auction i'm guessing is going to break them & resell for profit?

I'm no mechanic but i'm guessing most garages could do most jobs with much less tools then in the link?

That said, if they are stolen goods then surely they would of been smart enough to sell them in sets or at last wait a bit more then a few months since they were stolen. Especially with the amount of exposure certain things get on ebay (on forums).

How on God's Green do you steal all those tools :l without some kind of aeroplane or lorry

It's almost as if they had access to some other vehicle at the scene... Doh!

My manager showed me this last week... He wanted to buy but couldn't afford 30 odd grand for a tool kit. Funnily enough neither could I!

The bloke that offered his soul in exchange was a good one though...
