BF3 will be by far one of the best FPS games we've seen yet. MW3 is apparently using an old engine? BF3 looks amazing from what I've seen so far and MW3, the trailers seem to be copying BF3, even the music sounds similar.

I liked Bad Company 2, nice looking game but BF3 you will need a fairly good spec PC to play it... looks so much better on PC than a console.

I only tried BF last week when I picked up BC2 on a friends recommendation. Went in the next day and preordered BF3. Will still be getting COD3 though. For me, BF is much more sneaky - hole up somewhere and pick people off. COD is much more run around and shoot people quickly.

I believe i'm the only one maybe but I really felt this was harsh in the gameplay no real interaction or bond between the character and yourself as a gamer.
Only thing I do like is destructable enviroments which should be standard now in most games.

Have the map names been released yet?

I will most definitely be buying this. And hopefully the main part of the game is the muliplayer, couldn't care less about single player modes in these games. Usually some linear path with crappy AI & well places explosion barrels.

I was never a fan of the close quarter combat of COD.

Unfortunately, Consoles just cannot match High end PCs for graphics. So yes, it will look worse. How worse, is yet to be known.

However, apparently E3 released videos are Console versions.

And in a bit of comedy gold, Activision slabbered about EA being 'too scared to show console footage'. And EA responded by saying, "If they think that's PC footage then Activision are in trouble."

So perhaps the game really will look stunning. I hope so. BF3 is going to be my Major Purchase this year. Its going to be immense!

Will there be a COD game challenging BF3 or will they just take the back seat from now on after leading the FPS franchise? And surely there is nothing a COD can do to compete with this unless they added vehicles/big maps, regardless of how pretty they made it.

They are bringing out Modern Warfare 3 a few weeks later. However, that does not appeal in the slightest to me. There is only one great game that I am interested in as a FPS this year.

I would choose BF3 over COD any day. COD is now just a yearly release, on an old engine. there is no effort put into making anything different other than weapons and the storyline.

cod have been releasing the same game for years, only the fan boys haven't noticed yet or are to stupid to care.
I have already pre-ordered bf3 and I'll download cod as usual just to see if they've bothered to improve it.

First COD I bought was blops, love the online play and that is the only thing that would make me go back to it.

If BF3 does online play well then there is no way MW3 will beat it!
