Hi people, recently aquired a suzuki gp125 from the father in law for free, just needed tax+testing. He had it MOT'd 2 years ao and then sat it in the shed for 2 years so it hadn't even been used. Now, the indicators and brake light dont work. My friend and I were fiddling around with it, (replaced most of the wires+connections) but couldnt find the fault. All the bulbs work when given power just not when connected. Also the indicator and neutral light on the clocks do not work, but function when power is given directly to the light in question.

Since we fiddled, the horn now makes a little beep when the bike is started, then doesn't work after, and the highbeam light on the clocks is constantly on. There are ends of wires everywhere its wire hell, but half of them dont seem to do anything, not power anything, or they are not earths, just old wiring left in the bike. If anyone has any pointers can you let me know. Thanks

make sure the negative wire is making a good earth on the frame, and the battery is new. 2 year old battery not in use will be dead by now.

The battery is fine, and the earth is clean and making good contact. its just wiring hell honestly, everything rotten has been replaced, bht theres loose snips of wiring here and there - obviosuly someones fiddled in the past.

Checked the rectifier and fuses all working fine, relays seem to be ok too! Other than the electrics the bike is in really good nick - 27k miles on an 88 plate barely any rust etc.
