Its not going to improve compression, but if its full of cack in there remove the side casing completely and clean the inside before refilling with oil or the problem will persist. Are you sure its not just condensation from not being used enough/ not getting hot enough?
You wouldnt need a new sump plug, but its always a good idea to get a new sump plug washer.
Best bet to diagnose the loss of compression would first to be see how its running by taking a look at the plug. ____________________ 3 Honda NC50's(Sold)-->'72 Puch Maxi S (Sold, want it back!)--> '90 Yamaha RXS 100 (Stolen)--> '87 Honda Cub 90(Sold) --> '95 Kawasaki Eliminator (Sold) --> '98 Bandit 600 (Sold) -->'07 SV650S (Current) |

Last time I checked it was brown, if anything on the lean side definitely not too rich.
Will check how it looks next time we get a nice day.
On a side note, one of the previous owners painted the entire frame/subframe with white paint... some of it is chipping off I'm guessing it wasn't special paint. I'm thinking of removing it, what would be the best way?
Would something like Nitromors work? |

Are they the deltabox steel frames? if so its going to need some sort of protection from rust! if its alloy you could really take your time and polish it.
Check out my thread on alloy polishing here:
