I've stripped the plastics down this aft ready for spraying. Round the back of the clocks was an extra bulb which looked like it was part of the original loom.

The space it occupied is now taken up with the flashing LED from the alarm (which looks like a bit of a "bolt on" to be honest). As far as I was concerned, the alarm was fitted as standard, so I consulted the Haynes manual. Found this. Anyone any idea's what it's possibly used for ? The only thing I can think of, is they were planning to run their own brand alarm through the loom at the factory, but opted for a 3rd party system which was fitted like an after-market option.......

dont europian bikes have a light when you aproach a certain speed? maybe for the europian market?????? just a guess

Hi

Suspect it is just provision for a bulb for future use or local legal requirements. A lot cheaper to knock up a new loom to make use of it than to retool the clocks to add it.

On older Ducati's it would have been the charge warning light.

Italian electricity is not like electricity in other countries. I once had to rewire a Vespa.........

Funny thing is later Vespa's had Ducati electrics and were reliable!
