Ditch the towels.
Drying towels will be provided, and if its an all inclusive hotel in Tenerife, I would assume sunbed towels will be provided or will be available for a very low fee - Could always call ahead to find out?
Will save loads of weight in the suitcase!
Enjoy - I will be there in September ____________________ What restriction? |

As said, ear plugs if you want night time sleep and your in hotel near las americas! Clubs over there are fantastic if your interested in the night life. The strip is a little wierd and it was expensive when we went so ge the evening club rebs to 'play off against each other' for cheaper/more booze
Also, insects and ants can be a problem. We stayed near laguna park 2 and its up some crazy a** hill. Not fun when one decides to stay out till 7am!
Also wear pretty much what you want in the clubs ____________________ Current: Kawazaki ZX6R 51

I was noted that in some dinners at the Hotel we shouldn't wear shorts. Formal almost.
What the can of stuff can I wear that I won't boil in? ____________________ "Let's face it, this is not the worst thing you've caught me doing."

I would presume the dining area would be decently air conditioned on that basis - but light weight white cotton trousers would be the 'colonial' thing to do. Make sure they're appropriately ironed . |

She went on about bringing a book to read. She loves fiction.
I can't stand reading fiction.
Only remote reading material I have is my Haynes manual. Tempted to bring that. ____________________ "Let's face it, this is not the worst thing you've caught me doing."

I'm another voter for travelling light, just buy cheap T's and shampoo etc, when you get there; given that we live in a global market these days, even if you can't find the exact name, you'll spot familiar packaging in the supermarkets, so you won't go without.
You will struggle to get a decent cup of tea though, so take a few tea bags, if they don't break current customs regulations.
Regards the all inclusive dining, you normally get a choice of at least two dining rooms; one will be chav city (chips and beans with everything, T shirts and shorts, lots of kids screaming because their skin is falling off with sunburn) and the other will be more upmarket, with a better menu and a formalish dress code (shirt and trousers).
Tenerife is a bit 'party central' so it's mainly clubs/bars, shops and sunbathing/swimming pools, the only worthwhile bit of sightseeing is the volcano, Mount Teide; from memory, the peak is around 13000 feet above sea level and you get a cable car half way, then walk the rest.
Well worth the trip (take a light jumper and some half sensible shoes for the walk) because of the spectacular view, but don't venture round any narrow paths on the edge; it gets a bit windy up there and it's an effing long way down!!!!!!!!!
Also, check out the hot chocolate/brandy concoction at the cable car base station, it's worth going just for that
I like the place so much, I've been there half a dozen times and I'm planning to emigrate there in the not too distant future, so enjoy. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

i travel quite a lot and before i leave the house i check 'PPTW'
Phone
Passport
Ticket / itinary
Wallet (Euros, dollars & credit cards)
I have a small 'man bag' for all these so even if my back pack goes missing /stolen should be ok
Obviously, I pack other stuff but you're screwed if you rock up to check-in with no passport or arrive somewhere with no cash or cards...
Most airports won't allow more than 100ml in hand-baggage so make sure you checkin all your lotions and potions ...or they'll be confiscated. |

No body is born knowing everything.
When the 'oldies die out' hopefully they would of taught the worthwhile ones of the upcoming generation what they now.
For instance, I didn't know about E111's or whatever they are until know.
The ignorance of your post amuses me.

Ok, well i'll impart some more knowledge. Now is for referring to the present, eg. "Now I shall walk to the shops". Know is to infer you have knowledge of something, eg. "I now know where the shops are". Tricky last one there as it involves both. HTH |

To be fair though Redoko - it's pretty easy. Bang it all in context, you're double checking for an all inclusive hotel stay.
Common sense dictates anything you need can be bought if you forget it. It also dictates the essentials which you already have a good grip of.
When I was 17 I fucked off to paris with the gf, we managed alright, didnt have a clue what I was doing.
When I was 20 I rode to Rome and back with my best mate, all we had was a fucking road map and the ferries we'd booked for the crossing at Dover.
Sometimes jumping with no knowledge is half the fun - something the younger (listen to me - I'm only fucking 22 - already starting to sound like Ghostrider and Bonny ) generation (quite rightly pointed out by Phoenix) dont seem to know how to do.
Just go, make sure you have the basics and have a whale of a time - the last things on mine or my OH's mind would be straighteners and books when going on a bloody holiday ____________________ "Oh....it looks like Average Joe's is forfeiting the match!" - "Yeah, its a risky strategy but lets see if it pays off for 'em Cotton." |
