PostPosted: 19:31 - 12 Jun 2011    Post subject: Bike Insurance Website? Reply with quote

A long time ago when I was looking for bike insurance someone on here posted a link to a website that was similar to confused.com, etc only for bikes.

Well I am looking to put my bike back on the road now but cannot seem to find the link to the website I am looking for, does anyone know what site I am looking for?

*And slightly off topic (although related to puting my bike back on the road again).

Will it be an MOT failure if one of the forks sit about 1mm under the level of the yoke?

just used the MCN site to search for mine - got a quote for £75 for my little GP on TPFT, also got a quote for the CBF600 I'm getting next year - fully comp for £340 - both came up with swintons as the cheapest but by far not the best, when you take into thought leather/helmets; legal cover etc.

I'd +1 thebikeinsurer but I've ran out of Karma for today...

Insurance quote there half the price of anywhere else (TPFT, 20, '00 SV650S £250 ish)

Remember to give fake email and phone details for the bike insurer - otherwise expect to be hassled by email and phone from random companies!

Insurance due last week, renewal a bit high so tried 'screen scraper' website. It asked for convictions in last 5 years, I put none, last SP30 2004, 7 years ago.

New insurance docs arrive with 'no convictions in last 10 years'. Phoned company and said that I wasn't asked that question. They said it was a mistake and the insurance document 'meant' non-motoring convictions in 10 years and only motoring convictions in last 5 years. They said everything was OK but it makes me a bit concerned. A loophole for them to escape in the future in the event of a claim?
