So the whole company went into administration, but we've found the administrators haven't even taken over yet.

Told on Wednesday that we'd all be losing our jobs today... Store shut today for good. got called up at 2 to get my form for the information on the redundancy pay, and told that we're only getting 6 days pay for the 6 WEEKS work we've done... perfect.

Then just before we left, got an email through saying that the place might still be getting bought over, so our jobs might actually be safe if the new employer takes us on...

Anyway, as you can imagine, we were a TAD pissed off.

This is how the canteen ended up.

Thing is, we did this before we were told about a potential buyer... so if they see that...

Plus, the owner of the company's son will be coming up to take the money out the safe, so here's hoping he sees it Laughing

Just thought i'd share, i imagine there's been worse done in other places, but we had some banter doing it.

I am not a Harldenes employee but when i was made jobless from a pub kitchen (part time cheffing) i almost totally gutted the kitchen over a period of a week. Everything that wasnt bolted down went onto my moped! ALL the pans, knives, thick solid chopping boards, microwave, plates, cutlery, pint glasses, the most expensive bottles of wine, EVERYTHING! That'll teach the fuckers!! Very Happy I also took a man-size dump in her jakoozie (sp?) Fed a steak to their dog (which shat EVERYWHERE when given meat, i mean it was a fucking poo waterfall coming out that dogs arse!) and on my 2nd to last day, when i had cooked and served a complete sunday carvery BY MY SELF she complained that the red cabbage was overcooked, I wiped my arse on her pork chops and stuffed my dick in her mash Very Happy
She well and truely fucked me and my friends over, so we thought it polite to repay the favour!!

I cant remember details, but I worked for a company that went bust, and there is some government scheme that will cover you for wages owed up to a certain limit of hours per week. So you should be able to claim for the 5 weeks of wages you are owed. ie the government will give you the money out of the scheme. I think its capped at so many hours per week, and the pay rate may be capped too possibly. I know commission or bonuses wont be paid under it.

It was many years ago but the liquidators tasked with winding up the company, should be able to give you details.

Well i'm owed 5 weeks wages @ 42hrs per week at £5.95/hr. so the company owes me £1249. then there's the redundancy pay and the like.

Anything's better than nothing to be honest. plenty applications going out so hopefully i won't need to worry about it Thumbs Up

Damn, sorry to hear that.

Yes, the government will cover your minimum statutory redundancy entitlement; better than nothing.

Agreed on #4 Cock, and on looting the place, regardless of whether it might be rescued or not. Most likely not, it was always a quixotic endeavour trying to start a new supermarket chain.

We'll not mention the smashed camera at the loading bay, and the missing cages and shelves.

Company I was working for went bust last year. Even though it was taken over shortly afterwards by the company next door. Which must have long be pre-meditated and planned, and my suspicions are some kind of tax avoidance thing.

The statutory maximum of 380 a week, doesn't take very long to get to at £10/hr, and I was owed 3 weeks at that point.

It all came through, 3 x weeks at £380 from the insolvency service, but they were 60 and 70 hour weeks Thumbs Down

The new company taking over, also didn't adjust wages properly and paid all the employees from the bust company a flat rate for the first week, regardless of hours worked.

So I lost quite a bit those two weeks, somewhere between 90 and 120 hours I believe.

These things happen, companies go down the shitter. What I resented what the "play along like everything is fine" thing until being called in on the last day to be told you don't have a job anymore. But don't worry the company next door will take you on at £2 less per hour, and nothing said of the wages you have lost.

Original boss still works for the company next door, still driving a jag.

No doubt a lot of suppliers, fuel companies, tyre companies, automotive workshops and customers didn't get paid from that little escapade.

All just served to make me more jaded and cynical about everything, and i'll have zero respect for anyone at the top from now on, until I have reason (or rather, proof) to think otherwise. It's all just a game to the super rich.

Meanwhile i'm forced to play the "oh thank you bossir, yes sir boss I surely will do that" because I need/want the magic 2 years experience driving these 40 ton milkfloats in order to move on.

I hope their bank made them sign directors guarantees on any loans they may have taken so at least when they sink the LTD company, they're sitll accountable for the debts.

Probably not though, suddenly all the wives of the directors seem to have flashy new cars in their names.

Happens quite a lot unfortunately. A company i used to work for got shafted for around £75K when one of their customers went into insolvency. Within a month the same company was running again, under a slightly different name, with the same people in charge.

What makes me chuckle is said shysters now have a website page all about their 'corporate responsibility and ethics'.

When i came back from another interview today, i got on the phone to the Administrators the company said they had signed the notice to appoint...

The guy said they had no record of the company's name at all. When i told him that they hadn't been appointed yet, they had just signed the notice of intent, he told me it should still pop up on the system.

Then I got a call from my old line manager who told me that RICHARD COLLINS (director) had said that it was only the SCOTTISH stores that were closed. so either the system is wrong and my line manager has heard wrong, or the two pricks that go by the names of RICHARD COLLINS and ARTHUR HARRIS are lying through their teeth to us.

Which to believe? who knows.

I'll see if i get paid on friday, and then i'll see if i hear anything about administrators then...

If not i'll call ACAS and see what they say.

What a fucking nightmare Rolling Eyes

Find out who is administrator - ring them up with the time the guy is coming to take the cash, if they've any sense they'll be there to stop him.

All the assets of the company cease belonging to the owners as soon as it goes into administration, all too easy to 'accidentally' pay it into his own account then forget about it after.

I've tried to break into a couple of safes - without success. One was a large bank branch safe that was left behind when the building was sold to make a trendy pizza parlour. The electricians on site thought it would be a pretty safe place to store their tools overnight but never thought to ask if the code was known Very Happy

Some have concrete sandwiched between steel skins - that bank one had a nasty mix of some kind of resin mixed with some kind of bitch-hard round knobbly lumps that I couldn't even diamond drill through.

48 hrs non stop with a 12" disc cutter is enough to make a hole big enough to get your arm in.
Been there, tried that. I spent 12 hours and managed to cut a slot big enough in the front of the door to hack the lock open
