I was thinking of getting a new STEBEL 12V NAUTILUS AIR HORN,i have heard they are great addition for any bike and what a sound.

The muppets will think there is a 44 ton HGV bearing down on them rather than a bike.

Are they hard to fit will the original horn wiring activates the relay.

Should be handy for waking everybody up on the early morning starts

Anyone got one that they can comment on??

Yep that are brilliant perfect for waking up iPod zombies.

All you do is unplug your horn then plug those wires into the relay, run a live wire from the battery to the relay then a wire from the relay to the horn and finally a wire from the horn to earth.

The biggest problem is that it is quite a large unit and it if difficult to find space for.

Yep, just as easy as Chris has described. Take your time and do a neat job, don't use the relay that comes with the horn (mine faile don the way to my MOT!) and find somewhere good to mount it. Don't forget to get an inline fuse holder for it too.

I have one, it is most excellent

I had the problem of hideing it on a bikeeni faired SV650 so I split the horn and compressor, compressor is under the rear plastics with a tube (clear fuel pipe, about 10mm internal bore) running to the trumpets under the left hand fairing. The length of hose does add a very slight delay but with the standard horn still working it gives a nice 2 tone effect.

I did warn the MOT guy because they test bikes in a single garage sized, closed room, he laughed, gave the button a good press, then I laughed at the look on his face

I have one on my car (wired up properly before anyone asks), it is much louder than any original horn and it sounds nice in a retro kind of way but tbh it isn't as ear bustingly loud as you are probably thinking (and I was hoping).

It is louder so people will hear it but nobody expects it to be coming from a car/motorcycle, so I have my doubts about any proposed safety benefits - i.e they aren't looking for a motorcycle so don't see you, you honk, they look for a lorry not a motorcycle and therefore continue to not see you.

I initially bought it for the bike but faired bikes have very little room for attaching them.
