Depends how many you what to make and what type.

Is this the 'American-style Pancakes' that you get from Supermarkets, etc that you are looking for ?

If it is, there is a company called Macphie that supply Tesco, ASDA and a whole load of other smaller bakeries around the country. I dont know if any other supermarkets use the stuff but those 2 (probably the biggest 2 in the UK) get their stuff from Macphie.

5 fluid oz milk
1 egg
1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
5 heaped tablespoons of plain flour

Whisk the egg & milk together, then whisk in the flour & baking powder in about 3 batches.

This will make you about 3-4 medium-sized (about 4-5" diameter) pancakes. If you want more, increase the ingredients in the same proportions.

Unlike normal pancakes don't have your oil/pan/griddle too hot. I have a halogen hob with settings from 1-8, I use around 6-7 to make pancakes.

Once you've got the hang of the basic recipe you can experiment a bit by adding other stuff - one of my favourites is to use white chocolate milkshake (from Morrisons) in place of half the milk and throw in some chopped fresh rasperries and some chopped mixed nuts. If you want to add fruit/nuts or similar don't whisk them into the mixture, pour your batter into the pan as usual then sprinkle your extras on top - cook and flip as normal.

Why not cut out the middle man? Just drop the American from a great height.

Just follow the method for making proper crepes and then ruin them completely by making them really thick.
