So im giving the Hyosung a complete overhaul!

After a putting her on the side stand on my driveway (its a little sloped)... she fell and had some minor damage to the paintwork and left clip-on.

After not being overly impressed with the last paint (paintjob was good, paint was not quite what i expected (pearl white)) i decided to go for something with a bit more sparkle!

This paint is called 'Ice Pearl White' and is from 'House of Kolor', its a little expensive but it exactly the effect i was going for!

So... whilst being sent in for a complete respray i decided to paint up some of the areas that needed it, including wheels, calipers, swingarm etc...

Also decided to pull out the vinyl cutter from the garage and get cutting some new stickers and rimtape to finish off the design.

Anyways... onto the pics!

Day i got the fairings back

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/2-25.png

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/3-22.png

Added some canuba wax and paint sealent to protect it all!

popped the nose and tank on, then loosely fitted one side to see how it would look

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/7137dbb7.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/68b077dd.jpg

Time for some stickers....
I have my own vinyl cutter machine so making stickers is something i can do myself, i can also change the designs as often as i want to this may not stay as this design for long!

(Im aware that putting japanese style kanji/flag on a Korean bike is morally wrong lol)

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/5f847ee1.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/46288d24.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/0a5a2bcc.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/62113ed0.jpg

Onto the rimtape...

This was something i wanted to do for a while but didnt get round to...
I hated the normal boring plain stripe that everyone has, then people sometimes add their manufacturer logo to get a little creative.
I think i went a little overboard... but its cool Smile

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/th_0a732ae0.jpg <--- Video of vinyl cutter making my rimtape Smile

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/e35b5b8d.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/1d44c281.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/7920934a.jpg

Excuse the white caliper, that was a test and its now going black!

Now all i have to do is wait for this to arrive in the post...

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/faed8676.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/eb7a91c1.jpg

So i loosely fitted some fairings on to see how she stands at the moment Smile

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/cb828b8b.jpg

https://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g12/adamck/1fe98d0f.jpg

Need to sort out the front wheel and rimtape and a few minor things (indicators wont flash properly (led)) and give her a service and fit the new exhaust system.

Then shes good to go Smile

And yes she's a 125 Smile

Yeah they where red before, but i do have red on the tyre, rimtape and i have a red chain so i dont want to over do it with the red as i wanted it to be subtle...
I will try red and then black if all else fails! Smile

In fact i think i have a spare rear caliper in the garage that i will try in red Smile

Thanks for comments, been off the road for around 6 months now due to the paintshop taking ages (to be fair its an amazing job they have done and took about 18 hours solid work to paint)

And... now the guy who makes the silencers for my exhaust system has broken his wrist on a trackday so the downpipes are on hold for around 6 weeks Sad

My last silencer was a Yoshimura Tri-oval carbon can but the downpipes where rusted through (a downpoint on these bikes) so i had enough of replacing them and thats why ive took the oem pipes off, sold the yoshi and gone for a full stainless system this time.

I did have a choice of single or twin system but for the extra £100 it was worth going for a twin system Smile

Hope i dont miss all of the summer riding weather!!

its the closes paint i could find to the white glittery paint on the Ltd Edition CBR

https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3153/2937062264_95b9d67520.jpg

I had pearl before which was similar to the 848 pearl but it barely reflected any light unless it was in direct sunlight and you had to look hard to see it.

This new paint blinds you as soon as any direct light hits it Smile and the basecoat is Candy white.

Only downpoint from this paint is the price of it, the ice pearl additive and the technique's used to paint it evenly (took a while and lots of coats) is what costs the cash!

Has to be my fav paint though, kindof a classy bling instead of tacky OTT glitter paint or metal flakes (IMO of course Smile )

You could make good money selling jazzed up rimtape on ebay, I think you should make me a set for my TDM since I gave you the idea. (Note the front wheel is 18")
Thumbs Up

I dont make stickers for other really, for what they make them for in china etc... and they sell them for peanuts its really not worth the effort involved.
You can buy rimtape for a couple of quid these days (not very fancy stuff) but its possible, i cba trying to compete, if i was cutting rimtape like mine for sale i would want about £15 odd and most will argue they can get it done cheaper elsewhere, so i dont bother Smile

Go into any good sign shop with a pic of my rimtape and im sure they will copy it for you for less than i would charge Wink

Hi mate. Take a look at motounion.co.uk they do stainless systems for the hyosung.
Not the cheapest systems (mine is £410) but they are the best for performance and the best looking!
The standard pipes are crap, restrictive and will rust through in no time!
Scorpion also do a full system fo about £300 (single side).

OK, please tell me thats not a MotoUnion exhaust?
Laughing
I've seen 2 bikes with the twin fitted now, both bikes have killed the actual end cans within 2000 miles.. they look all burnt, one looked like the actual exhaust had cracked in 2 and you could see some white material behind it.

They also complained it was down on power and had a horribly annoying flat spot at around 6k-7k.

Put me off buying one for my bike...totally Laughing

Hmm Ive seen MTC cans in the same condition tbh...
I guess its down to how well you look after them, the cans will come with some warranty from motounion i would have thought!

I havent seen any complaints on any of the Hyosung owners websites or any other website tbh?

Is there any topics on here regarding this?

Its house of kolor paint, its a special fx paint that is not normal paint.
i.e its special paint...
I havent seen many bikes with a candy white base and ice pearl ontop!
So this paintjob is pretty unique.

And... im not too arsed about other peoples opinions, some will like it some wont!

I didnt buy it and have it painted this way to please others Rolling Eyes

You're at it again, entcha Welsh?
Apart from the thread questioning what to do with your aborted 'hot' NS, that blew up and is rotting at the bottom of your garden, I note the very obviouse OMMISION of any posts in Pics or S+T... for anything YOU have created, good, bad, ugly, common unique special, or otherwise......but lots of petty critasism of other's efforts.....
Give it a REST man.....
Lad ent got time or money to do his tests.... and lots of time to make excuses for why he hasn't, and to stall actually getting round to it.... and time and money to spend tarting up a tarty tiddler.... which suggests somewhat skewed priorities... however, he HAS done something here, showed some enthusiasm, some imagination, and possibly a little bad taste, but hey, he HAS actually DONE SOMETHING!
What you done lately Welsh?

Thats the sort of finish I 'wanted' but I was a bit put off with the amount of sparkle it would give.. Now, seeing that I wish I had done it Thumbs Up
Mine was a base pearl white, with a silver shimmer added - You have to look hard to see it, but when you can its nice.. Yours is lush - jeolous much Embarassed
Your gonna have fun cleaning that Laughing Thumbs Up

This fiestier teflon is cooler than the original. Apart from the obsession with L platers lasting over two years, I totally agree.

This guy did some stuff which not many can do, and his bike looks alright!
