Moped with Ls, no CBT?

I've just looked at my nephews car licence.
He did a CBT just over 2 years ago... but passed his car test over a year ago.

His card has the code 122 on the back.

Google has told me this is basic moped completion.

Does this mean, he wont actually have to sit another cbt but can have 50cc with l plates? If so, epic win as he only travels to the shop.

If you take a CBT and then pass it car test it turns it into a full moped licence. This means you can ride a moped WITHOUT L plates and you can carry a pillion.

Oh, and you never have to renew your CBT.

Anyone who had passed their car test before February 2001 are automatically given moped entitlement without the need for a CBT.

For people who passed their test after 2001 such as your nephew, they have to do a CBT and after this, they have moped entitlement added to their license, won't have to do another CBT again, no L plates and carry a pillion!

So yes, he won't have to do another CBT.

My CBT has expired bedore my car test.
Do I need another CBT? If I do will I need another in 2 years?
Do I need L's still?

Bike licenses are too complex!

The CBT -> full moped licence only gives you a category P licence which only entitles you too ride a moped. A moped is a vehicle of an engine capacity less than 50cc and not capable of more then 31MPH.

So, Yes you need to do another CBT. Yes you'll need too do one in two years and yes you still need L's.

Why not just do your bike test?

He'll have to do another CBT, but once he's done that he can send off his license with his CBT certificate off to the dvla and then he'll have full moped entitlement added to his license.

No need for him to keep on doing his CBT after 2 years.

Why is this fail?

It is a complex system,
-DAS,
-125 license,
- moped license
- restrictions,
- pre 2001 car license or post 2001 makes a difference,
- ages = different routes and engine sizes and limitations
- some need L's some dont etc...

if it wasnt complex then people wouldnt ask so many q's about it!

What you asked is fail, why would a car license allow you to ride a 125 motorcycle without limitations like L plates.
That and you made another thread today about tests in which everyone has already told you to pass your tests and stop fannying about on loser plates.. 4 cbts = fail

and i havent mentioned anywhere that a car test would allow riding a 125.

It was a query and i got an answer, thats the point of this thread!

And as per my previous posts in my thread, i am aiming to do my test next year.

Err, he said he rides a geared 125. Thats not a moped.
