I have recently purchased a gilera dna 50cc. It worked fine a bit slow to pull a way soon descovered why belt was too loose and rollers needed changing which we did and it now wont go past 20 miles per hour. We have also tried changing the coil which didnt work. We are our of ideas any advice please

The obvious question, did you put the right rollers and length of belt in?

Might sound silly but when I was messing around with my scooter I tried pulling the front drive wheel which caused one of the rollers to move out of place. When you look at the front drive wheel is the belt sitting right at the bottom, top or in the middle? My first guess would be that and it's an easy problem to sort. Just turn the front drive wheel slowly (if that is what it is called, hopefully someone could give it the proper name), while trying to pull it back into place.

If you start it with the back wheel off the ground and have a look at where the belt is running that could give you an idea of what is going on.

Hope that makes some sense.

I'm not really sure what advice you're after. It was running mostly OK, you did stuff, now it's borked. Only you know what you actually did to it, and you have an expert on hand.

However, the real reason I'm posting this is to say...

Every fifth post in this section seems to be about Gileras, and yet we warn people off Chinese branded bikes. Neutral
