Can anyone recommend a ferry company to travel from Liverpool or Heysham to Douglas? Just been trying some online quotes and they're rather expensive, even outside of TT fortnight.

Anyone else going next year?

I don't know if the others are acting as brokers, but I've tried directferries.co.uk , manxferries.com and have tried Steam Packet. Cheapest so far is £162 return with Steam Packet, but that's outside of TT fortnight. Seems dear to me.

Well the have exclusive use of the spans at Douglas apparently. So you're pretty stuck. Just get the best deal you can.

There is no other Ferry to the IOM apart from the Steam Racket....you could always hire a fishing Boat but Joey found out that they are not the most reliable of transports...it sank along with his Bikes ! Shocked If you want to get tickets for 2012 they are taking reservations and deposits (20£ ish) and then you get an almighty big bill in February next year !!

Yep, unfortunatley the Steam Packet have a monopoly and can charge a fortune. However, you are best booking direct with them.... the other sites are just taking a cut and are hence more expensive.

Crazy that you can sail from Liverpool to Ireland for £50 but itl cost you the best part of £200 for the IOM.

As an Isle of Man resident I can confirm there is no cheap way of getting on and off. Steam Packet it is.
Still, look on the bright side. Given the deepening financial issues (https://www.three.fm/news/isle-of-man-news/reports-suggest-vat-reduction-will-be-over-70-million-3827/) and incompetent government, you'll probably be able to buy a whole house here for that price by next May.

All the best ferries are gone already. Some will free up in February as people don't honour their bookings.

Also final prices aren't available yet.

I'm booked in Wednesday 30th May - Thursday 7th June. Can't wait again Smile
