yay or nay?

I need a box to put my stuff - helmet, boots, textiles

. Whats so good about Givi boxes, where the mounts alone cost £200! :O they look about as secure as a cornflake box.

I got a mig welder a few weeks ago, not used it yet. but Im thinking I could do it in steel sheet (or stainless)

Have to admit that many luggage systems have their advantages, quick release etc, and styling\kudos plays a big part.

I think function above fashion is your thing, so get the mig out, if you can do it all in stainless, so much the better.

I bet it will be stronger than a cornflakes box Thumbs Up

Just use an old army ammo crate, they're usually made out of stamped sheet steel anyways! Stick a padlock on for security

You can get a Chinky Givi lookalike off E-bay for £30, a Givi plate for a tenner, All you need are some side arms, they can all be 'modified' to fit and there you go, a smart, quick release system for buttons.

Being a cheapskate i bought a scuffed up kappa 49l box for £16 off ebay, it even had a top luggage plate on it.
New lock was about a tenner and a new plate mis described cost £14.
£40 in total and it's damn good and will hold 2 lids

Keep an eye on the bay

I have as Renntec rack that a strap a tail pack onto the two Zuru straps. It's quick and easy to put on and remove.
