When I got my zx636 2002 the shop replaced the rear tyre for me. They put on a bt012 but now the front needs changing. The current front is a pilot sport 120/70/zr17 and the manual I have said it should be a 120/65/zr17. Bridgestone don't seem to make a bt012 in 120/65.

what do you guys think I should do. Options seem to be go for a bt012 in 120/70 or either a pilot sport or dunlop d207f in 120/65.

i really don't want to have to replace the rear as its only done about 500 miles.

Another option is a 120/65 BT010

Any suggestion or help here would be really appreciated.

Thanks

I'd go for the 120/70 as they don't do a 65 profile, you'll be fine with runnined an 012 front and rear, you can mix tyres but you're generally best to run the same front and rear or similar front and rear, so would also be okay with the 010. I ran 010 front and an 020 rear on my ZX6R with no problems, but it's best to run the same front and rear and mixing manafactures as more possible troubles there. Have a look on MCN Ninjas forum to find out about which tyres would do best, but as you've already fitted the 012 rear (and 012's are very grippy anyway they're the updated version of the 010) I'd got for the 120/65 BT012 front. Thumbs Up

I'd stick with the same manufacturer so a BT012 120/70 would probably be your best bet, though running the BT010 120/65 shouldn't cause problems.
