So, today I steered away from weird 50's and dodgy chink 125's and got myself a 400 =D

I gotta say, she's a nippy lil girl for a 400, tops out around 120. Only paid 460 for her with 12 months mot and 4 months tax.

I gotta admist, 50's are still my favourites... but I do like the extra power... A LOT. hehe

Only got one pic tonight, can upload more in morning

What do you reckon?

EDIT: Just realised I posted this in General Chat... Can someone move it to show n tell plz? =D

Looks a very clean wee bike for the price. I think you got yourself a bargain there.

It's been crashed, bent brake lever, mini flashers and after-market bar-end weights are a giveaway.

That said, they crash well and for that sort of money, you kind of expect it. Here's a picture of our club CB1 being "repaired" after having just been thrown into a ditch at 70mph. To my knowledge, that was the sum total of the repairs it needed.

Just had new chain and sprockets too from what I can tell... rides straight and true. He admitted it had been dropped

Looks as cool as. A bargain too.

Just take it easy, tho I'm sure it feels like riding a rocket compared to the 50.

Make sure you stick to those private roads doing your 120 Razz

It'll ride even better when you get rid of that square rear tyre. I haven't seen one so square in a LONG time!

Anyway, 400's are great, aren't they? Light, flickable and with enough power to have fun, but not enough to get you seriously in trouble with Plod. Great bikes.

I knew what bike you'd be getting even before opening the thread Razz but,

https://data.boomerang.nl/g/grafisch-lyc-rot/image/very-nice-borat/s600/very-nice-borat.JPG

I see a few rusty spots, get a big can of WD-40 and deny them existence. Very Happy

Great bike, I'm tempted to hang onto mine depsite buying another bike as they're not that easy to find. They have just the right amount of power to be fun on the road without risking your licence.

Wouldn't worry about getting a twin disc setup; the single disc is fine for the power and weight of the bike and can have the back wheel in the air...no need for more power than that.

BTW, looks like someones fitted a Fireblade shock - much better than the original one Cool

Well she handles VERY nice albeit a bit unpredictable at lower lean angles with that squared off tyre.
The pegs are off a fireblade too apparently Razz I didnt know the shock was fireblade though.

Can anyone recommend me a decent mid range tyre? I need something that'll hold if I give it some stick in the twisties, but have good mileage too. I also ride a lot in the wet. I'd rather the better mileage than trading the mileage for grip

BT45s meet all your requirements perfectly although Pirelli diablos are cheaper (if you go to a 150 rear) and are meant to be good.
