had my first proper off yesterday,,hurts when you hit the road..maybe my fault but front end went under half way round corner..just a bit battered and bruised but apart from that im good,,some guy at hospital last night told me he lost back end of his car the same corner earlier that day and reported oil to police..but whether was that or maybe too much into the corner(usually am faster) i just dont know..but was lucky wasnt serious..bike seems to be not too bad a state, all fixable...

Did you get the guys details who said there was oil on the road?

You might be able to see if it had been reported that there was oil on the road, and if the local council hadn't cleared it up properly you may be able to make a claim against them for not clearing it up properly?

Not sure if you would be able to, but could be a route you could look at?

Bike doesn't look too bad to say you've had an off, a bit of t-cut and some polish and it will scrub out! Smile

Ouch, I'm glad that wasn't worse. Lucky there was a ditch there and not a wall.

Don't ask, assert. Send the council the bill for the bike, gear and new underpants. If you don't, then why would they bother cleaning up the roads?

Glad your OK, bike doesn't seem to be too bad and should fix up fairly cheaply. Remember my first off, i'll shi* you up for a while but just get back on and ride.

The road is dry so surely you would have seen any oil on the road or granules / sand which would have been equally slippery.

Looking at one of the photos there maybe it was a stray bit of gravel that was on the main tarmac.

I suppose that if you're going to crash, then you won't find a softer landing than that particular spot. Hope that you're ok

Sorry to hear about the off!

Have a check to see if it has been reported and if you have come off as a result of oil on the road that hasn't been up you can claim.

Just a word of advice, get some R&G's. You've have saved all the fairings if you'd had them on.

Glad you're ok, bike doesn't look too bad. When you fix it add some crash bobbins as well, might have saved some of that damage.
