I was just reading the news and came across this

M&P Motorcycles in Gorseinon hit by major fire
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-13918649

I hope they don't take long to get back up and running. They were outstanding with their service I found.

Hmmmm, it will take a hell of a long time to get back up and running IMO. Was the company actually doing well? I had loads of emails for really discounted stuff like exhausts etc...

The question is, is it a fire or is it a "fire"?

Wonder how sales have been going over the last 12 months.

Incandescently?

I expect their insurers will be asking that question. Mind you, they'll need pretty good insurance to cover their trading losses as well, unless this is a cashing-out "fire" and they're done with the business.

Either way, it can't be good news for their staff. I just hope that they (personally) manage to salvage some "slightly singed" gear and get it on eBay.

Seems to be a shame, i've ordered good stuff from them and spoke to them a fair few times over the phone.

I remember a few months back they released a new catalogue and seemed to be upping their game as it were. I remember the website getting a decent revamp.

As i work in the web industry, often on extremely large sites/projects (budgets usually starting at no less than £1M+) It's easy enough to see where a shite site costing nothing has been put together, and a good site costing a fair bit has been put together. In the case of MandP I thought they'd had a pretty good go at it and seemed to have spent a fair bit of time and effort getting it setup to what they wanted.

I'd hazard a guess at arson but I'd hope it's not insurance fraud.

Not exactly hearsay... the Busters retail outlet in Llansamlet was closed down, and some of the staff offered positions at the M&P branch. I remember going to the former Busters branch some time ago, and they'd posted an announcement to that effect on the front window.

Well, yes, but I think I had an unfair advantage of a working relationship with some of the staff at the Mid & West Wales Fire Service control room Thumbs Up Wink

Always found M&P to be thoroughly efficient and reasonably priced, sorry to hear the news and hope they're back in business soon.

Hey, Hetzer, you should get yourself down there, there should be some good looting shoplifting liberating the ill gotten gains of the corporate overlords going on.

Buster's is part of M and P too.

Looks like other companies gain. Conspiracy much?

I heard that customers have lost bikes that were there for repair too.

Bit of a tangent but does anyone know if ChampionMotoUK in South Wales are a walk (ride) in shop or mail order only company?
