Every year the VJMC hold a small show? and bike jumble not far from me in Brantham in Suffolk.
There were some great bikes there including FS1E`s, H1750 triple and a very sweet old Honda CB 175 twin.
As this old Sachs that I`m getting back together is nearly finished, mind you there`s always something that needs doing, I thought I`d look for a new project (possibly, maybe).
I found a MZ Simson 50 that looked like it could do with a new home and looked like it was within my capabilities to fix.
Dont forget that this was an old and tatty 50cc moped.
He wanted nealy £500 for it
Needless to say I did`nt buy it.
I tried to buy a few other bits, and the money these sharks want for this stuff is just outrageous
I know fleece-bay can be a pain but at least if you look hard enough you can pick up a bargain here and there.
Do other people find that bikle/auto jumble to be a bit of a rip-off or is it just me? ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

Bargains at auto jumbles are few and far between. The majority of sellers are dealers and therefore know how far they can push a buyer to get the best price.
I find forums run by owners clubs and ebay better for picking up stuff. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

You`re dead right about a lot of them being dealers as this fella had his sign written van behind him.
Thing is he has now done himself out of some business, I know who he is and out of principle I will never do business with him.
If when I asked "how much" he had given me a genuine price that was fair instead of seeing how much he thought he could get out of me we might of done business.
Of course that would of meant that I might of gone back to him for other spares and parts he might of had.
I absolutely hate people who try to rip me off.
Yes I am tight but I have been known to spend on the right things ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |
