Sounds like your exhaust is in need of a de-coke.

What you're describing is exactly what my ay50 was doing.

Take it for a ride with the exhaust off.
If it runs better without, then a de-coke is required.

Lighter ones may not do a world of good.

IIRC lighter ones make your bike better top end but will still pull away slowly and going up hills it wont have the power to pull in the range that the rollers let it so it will still go like 20 Laughing

That is what I think anyway. I am probably wrong haha.

Your right in the fact that your wrong.

People often think that rollers affect top end speed, this is true to a point as heavier rollers will just put the transmission into a high gear too soon and you end up stuck in top gear at 20mp hitting 6000rpm until you manage to crawl up the powerband.

Similarly, people often thing that light rollers give you acceleration. This is also true to a point as lighter rollers will make your bike rev higher thus giving more acceleration. The only time you'll loose top end from too light rollers is if you install stupidly light rollers for your setup.

Check the rollers, check the jets and fuel (doubt it but worth a look), check the drive belt is ok whilst your in there and as a last resort de-coke.
