You need wiring diagrams for both bikes.

The CBR one will be simple to find (possibly in one of the links in here:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=2322761#2322761), chinky bike will probably be harder but find both and have a look.

Post them on here once you have found them if you don't know how to read it.

On the CBR the green looks like the earth, the W/G looks like the live power feed and the yellow green is the rev counter feed from the ECU/pickup.

The Skyjet is a bit confusing Smile.

I'd have to guess at this but it looks like the green is the earth, black is the live and the black/yellow is the rev counter feed - Someone who knows what they are looking at will be along shortly to discredit me entirely so hang fire until you get a better response Smile .

If you do match the wires up, how do you know it will read the right speed/anything at all? /is it a common modification?

yeah mate ,it is common mod as the skyjet clocks are rubbish the needles bounce all over ,been told that the cbr clocks fit and give a better reading .
to get it spot on think i might need to change the cable and drive at the wheel aswell ,getting there tho Smile
