If he sends a cheque, once its cleared, he can have the bike, I dont see how he could scam us once the cheque is cleared?

Wouldn't the postcode be for the whole street though? As opposed to a single building?

I hate all these dodgy bastards out there trying to get one over you Evil or Very Mad

If it sounds dodgy then move on. Anyone interested would come and have a look if they were a serious buyer.

Classic Nigerian scammer. Who writes god bless in an email. Tell him cash or nothing and I suspect you'll not hear from him again.

I'm not far from that postcode, when googling it comes up as inland revenue and customs building postcode, there are other houses on that road but the ionland revenue office would be quite an obvious choice for a foreigner to choose the post code for. The dodgiest bit for me is the god bless remark, Nigerian scammers frequently try and use religion to sound like honest people.

Suggest the FULL asking price as the price, if they try and haggle they are probably genuine, if they offer the full price or even more they are frauds. Either way I'd be wanting cash.

So do you think I should play along with him even though I know he's a scammer? Then what, report him to the police?

After googling this guy, he seems to have done it lots of times....... Shocked

Meh, just tell him to do one or ignore the email. Police won't be interested since he's not committed a crime yet. What he's done isn't illegal.

Most sensible solution is to ignore the emails however you could post his email on https://www.419eater.com/index.php and let them bait him and waste his time, or have fun with him yourself - the goal is to waste as much of his time as possible.

I.e. make him prove he is serious by getting a photo of himself on a motorcycle as you cannot morally sell it to someone with no experience etc etc etc.

As soon as anyone asks for 'Best Price' or 'Total Price' then its a scam.

Blatantly a scam.

this is what im thinking - get him to send a cheque then report him to the police, the police will probably do nothing, but if no one reports this sort of thing then they will just keep on doing it.

Don't give him your real address, give him the address of the local police station or something.

Has he sent a fake cheque yet? No.

If it were me I'd just ignore the email, but I'm too busy/lazy to be bothered about stringing them along.

He's a scammer.

He wants your bank details and address to go with your name. If he'd just asked for your date of birth and mum's maiden name straight away it would have seemed too obvious.

They sure do. You'll take them to your bank, they'll deposit them in your account, credit you the money, they'll even tell you that the funds are "cleared", and you can take them out in cash and roll around in them.

Then 2 weeks later, they'll debit you and say "Oops, that piece of paper was bogus / stolen / drawn on a random victim's account, tough luck, that money was never yours at any time, even though we said it was. Here, have some overdraft fees."

You lot make me sick. Just because he may be from Nigeria you all automatically think that he is a scammer. Not everyone from that region is bad. I've recently become a very good friend of a man from Nigeria. His uncle works for the Nigerian Government and he has a large amount of unallocated money that he needs to dispose of. All that I need to do to in order to receive a cut is to let him transfer the money into my bank account, sit back and say nothing. All this money will be coming my way very soon and I hardly even know him.
So you see, they're not all badbastards.
