If you go to Yamaha dealers, they will be able to get them, be prepared for a fisting on the price though Laughing

Take a look on Gumtree. There's usually a good bit on there, though most of it is nicked I would say.

Whats with kids, these days go to a shop! Yamaha Dealers will do it, or you can buy online here

https://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?ModelID=11323&pageID=38&uid=308048766

https://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?ModelID=11323&pageID=39&uid=308048766

However it is cheaper to go to the dealers and ask.

The you're going to get raped man is appropriate here - Depending on what exact part you need yamahascooterspares are not far off list, so not withstanding that those links were to R1 parts I reckon you're comfortably looking at £8-900 (new bikini for my fzs600 comes in around £300 IIRC).

You won't find them at breakers cos they aren't old enough for the engines to have died, and any crash will have screwed the fairings beyond recognition.

Is this the one that cost you 2k as a Cat C? probably an object lesson in why bikes get written off.

I really wouldn't spend the money on brand new fairings, they cost SO MUCH it is rediculous.

Bodge yours back together with araldite, duct tape etc etc and get by until you can find a set on ebay/a breakers etc.

How would you feel if you spent £500 on fairings then dropped it at the end of the road?

Plastics cost so much because when they get damaged (i.e. at EVERY crash) insurance companies with deep pockets are normally the ones footing the bill. Manufacturers probably make as much or more money from parts as they do from bike sales.

You can bet your life that those fairings only cost less than a tenth of retail to make. ABS is easy to mould and get a good finish - then there's just paint and stickers, and they are doing that anyway for the production line so no special setup there either.

I'm looking forward to the day the chinese get aftermarket abs fairings right. The feedback on some of them is pretty good already so it's only a matter of time before they are knocking out perfect OE quality copies for £300 a set.

I reckon they probably cost about 5%< of the retail price to produce .. Plastic, blue paint and stickers... It's not exactly amazingly strong plastic either...

What's "ABS"? and how easy is this. Embarassed

Paint is a lot more expensive than you think.

It's the plastic genuine fairings are usually made of.
