Ebay Question.

Quick question. My girlfriend was bidding on a brand new dress on ebay. Postage was free and there was no buy it now price. She puts her bid in for it and leaves it at that. Anyway few hours later she gets an email saying the auction has been pulled.

She goes back on ebay and looks at the sellers shop and finds they have re-upped the auction. However this time it has a fivers postage and they have put the price up ont he cost of the dress aswell.

So can somebody just cancel an auction if they don't like how low the price is. I know the auction wasn't over yet but hardlys fair to pull it and up the price?

um i think yes they can provided they have written some sort of get out clause in the item description OR if its a shop or something then they have something about it in there details.

like if you were selling bike you would write " item is for sale elsewhere so i have the right to remove at any time"

something like that

If they yank it off the website they have to give a reason for doing so, such as the item no longer being available, or being advertised incorrectly. They've abused the system, but there sadly isn't much you can do about it.

All I can say is don't indulge them by bidding again.

Hmmm sounds like it shouldn't be done but is and theres nothing you can do about it. She's not really bothered about it I was more inquisitive about whether they can do it really.
