Welder Needed

I could do with someone to do a small job for me if possible - just to weld two 6mm, (10mm AF) nuts to a small plate about 15mm wide by about 100mm long. Its for the inside of where my fairing meets under the front of the engine for two allen bolts to screw into. Anyone want a bit of welding practice? I'll provide the plate with two holes drilled and the nuts.

You could even check around your local sheet metal fab places see if you can scrounge a handful of M6 hank bushes. They would be great for the job you want to do.

There's another name for these that escapes me at the moment, I remember I needed one to fit in a swingarm. Just wondering if the name I knew them by might turn up in a search on eBay as "Rivet Bush" doesn't. I don't really need 100 of them.

I was thinking of using flanged nuts as they would guide the bolt into the thread.

TBH if you don't use a cut-down bolt you won't have problems starting it in anything. They have a lead rolled into the end naturally.
