Hyabusa Clutch Noise

My K8 2008 Hyabusa 12,800 mls since new and still under warranty has developed a light scraping noise from the clutch when in neutral and appears to fade slightly when clutch lever is engaged. Can't hear anything when motoring but may be hidden by engine noise. No problems whatsoever with gear changing or clutch operation, everything appears to be operating smoothly and normal. When viewed through oil filler hole with engine stopped, clutch operation is clearly seen and looks normal.

I have contacted the dealer but awaiting service managers return from holiday. Don't expect any problems with dealer as always very helpful. Also the bike is presently in Spain and dealer in UK.

Has anybody any suggestions what the problem may be?

Is it possible to get a free drawing of of the clutch assembly from a workshop manual ? The inspection cover is easily removed but I'd like some detailed information before opening up.

If it is taking up drive smoothly and not slipping I should not worry about it unless it gets worse cery quickly in which case stop immediately. There was some issue with very early bikes loosening the clutch spring posts through lack of loctite but not on anything past about 2001 far as I know.

Hello,
Regarding the clutch noise on my K8 Hyasbusa. All is now sorted by local Suzuki dealer in Spain and covered by warranty.

The problem was due to two of the clutch spring set bolts that had come loose. The complete clutch was stripped and checked but no further defects were found. Also reported that all components were as new despite having covered 14,000 mls
You did mention this problem with some of the early models but assumed it had already been sorted by Suzuki. Anyhow worth keeping an eye out for future reference .Hopefully this info will be helpful.

Wow thanks for the follow-up. Not heard of any later bikes having the fault only 99/2000 ones. Glad you got it sorted anyway.
