This reminds me of a guy called Billy Baxter, who set a world speed record for a blind person on a motorcycle.
Quote:
On August 2, 2003, he set the blind solo world land speed record on a motorbike with a speed of 164.87 mph (265.33 km/h).

Then he went around the top gear track in the reasonably priced car...

I just briefly remembered reading about it.

I think he had a guide bike on each side to direct him via "left a bit...right a bit..bit more right" along a straight line.

But to put your life in someone Else's hands, especially when you're alone on a motorbike must be terrifying.

Imagine the guy must just have a mental picture of the track set up, how wide it is, surface, surroundings, tolerances etc. Once your shifting the bike tends to want to go in a straight line anyway. J Clarkson was telling him right click, left click. That seems to have been a good way to communicate. Would have liked to have been there when he did it !!! and shook his hand !!!! Respect !!!!!!
