ive booked my first track day (pending confirmation) at donny and a bit anxious about the start time! i have a good 2hrs travel to get there and believe the sign on time is 7.30am with briefing starting at 8.30am.
Do you have to be there at 7.30 on the dot or does the signing on go on right up to 8.30am?
Leaving the house around 5am is gonna be a killer so even an extra half hour would be good!

ALSO how long does it generally take to confirm your place? been 2 working days now and aint heard sh*t! Crying or Very sad

Signing on happens until 8:30 but if you arrive too late there'll be a massive queue. If you're with Focused then group 1 goes out first (novice) which means you might miss some of the first session if you've still got to sign on. If you are going with any other TDO then fast or inters will go out first and if you're in novice you'll have at least 20 mins to get sorted. Don't forget you'll also have to take your bike for noise testing at some point too.

You can normally get away with signing on at 8:25, or JUST after the briefing if needed - just make sure you're ready for the first session, as above.

think il just try and get myself there as early as poss then.
Im looking at booking a couple of trackdays - donny being the first so booked into novice, should i book novice again for my 2nd track day (likely to be cadwell) or should I be ok for inters for that??. Im not really new to tracks and racing etc and i ride at a decent enough pace on the road but donny will be my first time on any track on a bike - just want to get cadwell booked up but unsure of the pace of novice/inters etc Thinking

If you don't know the circuit, and I mean KNOW it, book novice. I still go novice at Cadwell even though I've been there probably 6 times.

I'd book for novice and consider asking to move up if you feel you're near the top of the group then. Can expect some pretty fast people in inters that should really in Fast but like being the 'big fish'.

Oh and still don't see the need to get there early Smile.
If you're riding your bike there, should be absolutely fine. If it's a case of in a van, then a little more time may be needed.
