I am about to do my full test and want some suggestions on what bike to get next.

I like enduro style bikes, not keen on street, sport or tourer style. I have a Yamaha DT 125 RE now and picked it purely for the style and riding position etc. I have fallen in love with it, but its just not beefy enough now. Really I would ultimately like a Road legal Yamaha YZF 426 or similar, but because of the service intervals and maintenance etc its not an option really. A friend suggested a Suzuki DRZ 400 as the next logical step, very similar in style and more powerful than my DT, so a winner in my book. Im now trying to find the Yamaha, Ktm, Kawasaki etc equivalent to Suzuki's DRZ, but struggling.

Someone always flies past my house on a beefy sounding 4 stroke Ktm of some description. Looks like an EXC-F or similar, really nice, but he goes past very regular. So either he pays a S**T load of money on maintenance, with a bike in bits as much as on the road, or theres some kind of bike I havent found yet lol

Can anyone suggest a bike that is similar in style etc to an enduro/motocross bike, but designed for road use. Doesnt have to be break neck quick just 'beefy' with powerful blips of throttle Twisted Evil (like that Ktm Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil )

What about the maintenance on a YZF 450, surely it would mentally and financially cripple you lol If it was just a sunny sunday job it would be good, but not mon - fri, 9 - 5, work transport???

Then go and do a few test rides and get the one that suits YOU. Thumbs Up

Wouldn't recommend the YZF for that Laughing I did want to get one and use it as a commuter, but after riding it, it can go to hell Laughing

The DRZ would be a better choice Thumbs Up
