For values of "awesome" where "awesome" = "not as boring as usual".

It was a pretty good race today. Rossi done nicely considering the qualifying position, i was surprised at that!

Pedrosa rode an awesome race and it was good to see him at the front, the guy deserves some look and has had a shite time.

Marco done nicely, frankly I had thoughts that he might lob it at the omega curve quite early on. He now seems content with 4th-6th and i think he will work to move forward over the coming year.

Lorenzo done very well, although if what we read is true the twisty nature should work for the Yamaha. The Honda ate it on the straight though, even when he was chasing Stoner up the hill he'd only catch him on the brakes at the end.

Apparantly Bridgestone are changing the tyre rules so a bigger selection of tyres are available from Laguna onwards. All the big names voted for it (Stoner, Lorenzo, Rossi etc). I wonder if this will play into Rossi though and help him get some confidence in the front end, apparantly getting any worthwhile heat into it is his biggest problem.

I know Ducati have focused on this Carbon Frame/Airbox but you've gotta wonder, if no one else has copied then surely going with a classic frame might help them sort stuff out? I wonder if the GP12 ends up with a GP12.1 bytime next year rolls round. I can't see Rossi accepting another season like this and he has a lot of influence and Ducati might eventually bow and change the bike. I'd like to see a cluster of Ducatis challenging the Yamaha/Honda lot. If he gets the bike right I reckon Hayden will be up there too.

Either way, i think the best race of the year. I'm guessing the short twisty nature of the circuit helps with so few riders on, i'm looking forward to Laguna next week as well as that'll hopefully be more of the same.

Woo hoo, wow that was exhilarating... it's how racing should be... glad that the camera men did their job well and kept showing us viewers all the little battles throughout the race. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Cal looked really tearful during the after race chat... poor bugger Sad

It would have been a kick of elation, as he got past Marco at the very last post...won't be anything malicious...he's not at all like that... Exclamation

Very good race. Best so far this year. It seemed everyone was battling for positions.

yeah there was a point early on where it looked like he backed off from the repsol pack so honda wouldn't have a go again.

Shame about Bradl not winning moto2. I like him and he was doing well. Only caught the highlights on British Eurosport about half 6 last night, though.

Yeah it did look like that and then he made the mistake at the end. Must be a combination of getting told off by Repsol and being told to actually finish the race and get some points.

It is a shame though as they've blunted his edge and if he continues it'll restrict him to the second tier. Not that he needs to be crashing every race but that point early on was far far wider than some of the other gaps that lorenzo et al went through, he should have gone for it.
