These guys are going to let bikers vote for their dream bike specifications and eventually build the one with the most votes and put it into production.

Quite a unique concept, there's a form on their site that you can pick out the specs you'd like...

https://mo2or.com/

What would you build?

Do you seriously believe this is a genuine company? Or just a thinly veiled research project?

I'd love to believe that they'll build my trellis framed two stroke twin, but they won't. Plus they only listed a V twin and not a Parallel twin, which is probably better for a two stroke application.

Fail. You can't pick the drive type, nor cooling, nor how the valves are driven.

There is more chance of me building my own dream bike than these jokers.

In fact, I'd love to build a better chassis in which to house my YPVS engine...

1300cc
V4 2 Stroke
Injection + Turbo
Twin exhausts?? Closest available choice.
Trellis frame, double sided swinger.
Fully adjustable rearsets, digi dash, clip ons.
Hub centre steered, adjustable mono-shock.
Part faired, single seat.

Am picturing it now, and if im honest, im nursing a semi just at the though of such a beast!

True, you would get nuggets saying they want gear driven cams on their 2 stroke V4 with red power bands attached to their belt drive

If it is a 4 cylinder 2t it will need 4 exhausts.

Why would anyone NOT choose fully adjustable rear sets?... "No, that's disgusting, I only want my rearsets PART adjustable!"

Obviously they can just manipulate the figures to build the bike THEY want, or at least not the v5 1300 'charged 2 stroke everyone else might want, but will be silly expensive.
So they'll basically end up with a Jap engine in a custom frame - aka many 'specials', often seen in Streetfighters. Doesn't have to cost a silly amount of money.

This car was built along similar grounds (well, actually using a creative commons licence, I think!), but with a better buisness model, I suspect:

And yes it is a 'real car' and yes I would like one please Praying!
(Oh and a desert to use it in too Smile.)

This is only the start of achieving our goals, we have a lot of work ahead of us and your continual input and feedback is still needed.

You had exactly the same thoughts on spec as me, incedentally I designed a trellis framed 2 stroke parallel twin for a CAD project:

This thread actually inspired me to look for a frame kit for my RD350. The usual suspects like Spondon are around, but I've heard rumours that a 350 spondon frame kit costs £8000. Then there is Silverback engineering that will make me a bespoke alloy frame for £5000 including frame, swinging arm, tank, rear shock and spindles.

Then there is a guy in Australia who makes an alloy beam frame kit which costs AUS$5000 which is about three and a half grand in £ sterling.

All too expensive. What I really want is a Steel Trellis of Ducati Monster style. There is a guy on the internet who has built this:

Which is the closest I've seen. I'd so love to do that, but I don't have the time or skill to carry it out. Mind you, if I could find someone who could do the whole job for (a lot) less than £3500 I might consider it!

Anyone else get the "we want money pleez" email?

Quote:
MO2OR Money!!

The World's First Crowdsourced Motorbike is now seeking some crowdfunding... To help us gauge actual interest in MO2OR No.1 we are asking people to fund (a small amount) to help develop the prototype.

We have partnered with Sponsume.com to help raise £12,000 within 90 days. If we succeed then we will be more "suitable" for further VC funding to help develop a sustainable company to make more motorbikes. You also get to see a wonderful video of me trying to explain the concept... please be nice with your comments!!

We are not expecting you all to like the final design, but as you have already shown interest in the concept, we hope you would see the "bigger picture" in what MO2OR are trying to achieve. Or at least forward the Project on to someone who may wish to fund.

Again, as always, we thank you for your time and hope you will remain with us as we make this dream bike a reality.

Regards

Steve

Can't see the money getting any further than "Steve's" pocket tbh.

You never know, they might come back with something amazing.

Just look at what happened with SWAP.avi.
