Hey all.

Basically on my suzuki bandit400 1993. I am get a loud whining/wearing noise when at speed and i release the throttle (so bike is basically slowing from speed).

It does it in anygear and still does it when i pull the clutch in.
I replaced the front sprocket as it looked original and was completly knackered but noise still present.

any ideas appreciated

Wheel or gearbox related.

Checked your wheel bearings for play?

Chain too tight can do that.

My chain was too tight which made a whining noise.

well it does seem gearboxy to me aswel, will have a play with the chain tension sunday as i will be carring a pillion for a ride out so i will give it some good slack and see where we go from there

Hmm you must be right then. Definitely sounds transmission related though, may just be normal.
