What helmet is it (brand, model and size)?

For almost all helmets you can buy replacements, either look on ebay or contact the manufacturer.

Best thing to do if the lining is not removable is to wash the whole lid in the bath. Similarly, if the lining is removable then just take it out and put it in the washing machine.

Trying to replace the lining on a lid where it is not removable is probably not a good idea and will probably ruin your lid. My reccomendation is to go to the supermarket and buy some baby shampoo. Put the lid in the bath and along with the shower head use the baby shampoo to clean the lining. rinse thorougly and allow to dry naturally. DO NOT use a hairdryer or put it in the airing cupboard. It must dry naturally or some of the glues used in the construction of the lid can melt.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

They go for about £25 brand new.

If it is an old helmet belonging to someone else then I wouldn't waste time/money on a lid with an unknown history, if it has been dropped or crashed in it would need replacing anyway. A new helmet is cheap enough, new pads and a visor for my lid would cost about £60.

Replacing the pads on something like that might not be possible, if it is possible then it is certainly not worth it.
