hi guys,

well not long been riding out on the road and my recently purchased my generic trigger which is a 2008 year is rather sluggish on acceleration, from first gear you go to pull off and it takes 2-3secs to actually really pull off which if you can imagine is dangerous and annoying for use on the road, the lad i bought it off told me two things not to touch the choke button on the handle bars as it sticks and also that he had changed the gearing system for slower acceleration for higher top speed but surely it wouldn't slow the acceleration down this much would it ? Any ideas ? also the oil light came on so i filled her up with sainsburys own brand two stroke mineral oil and sometimes it gives off white smoke with a strong nasty smell after i put the two stroke oil init any ideas on this too how to stop it ?

thanks

cam

Depends which sprocket he changed, but usually you would increase the engine end sprocket up a tooth or two, and go down on the rear sprocket. Depends what you mean by take a while to set off, is the engine bogging down? How many revs are you using? It is a 50 remember. I would just look at the sprockets and try to find the number should be 12-15 on the front and could be 38ish on the rear. Try to find out the standard and put it back to normal. Otherwise you will have a rubbish 50cc. As for the oil, the cheaper it is the more it smokes. Wouldn't worry about that too much. Just check the spark plug isn't black, or the pump will need adjusting.

Hi mate,

Sorted it now if I hold it at 8,000 revs and pull off in first it's quick enough and also if I put a 80cc piston kit on it what do I need to change on the the Jetter?

Thanks

If you don't know what a carburettor is, then you shouldn't be putting bore kits on and the like. If it runs okay then leave it and get a 125 when your 17 Thumbs Up
